Meet the Company Owners
As owners of American Forest Lands WA Logging Company have extensive logging industry experience.
We believe in old school values - that treating landowners with respect is essential to the core of our company. "You have to be fair and treat people good!" As professionals in the forest industry - over 50 years working in timber, our 5-star reputation speaks for itself. We have worked closely with Northwest lumber mills for decades, including export timber companies and domestic log markets- getting the absolute highest timber prices available today!
We have a lifelong affection for the forest products industry and deal effectively with all kinds of folks with all kinds of ideas about their timber- which is demonstrated by our three years (2015-2017) as finalist for Better Business Bureau regional Business of the Year Award!
"We both come from logging families"
At the age of 22 Bub was the youngest timber faller at Scott Paper Company in Lester Washington. "As I got my whiskers I started contracting for various logging and timber companies and large tree farms, including Murray Pacific Corporation and Cheney Port Mills. Bub (The Logboss) also worked in several logging camps in Alaska, Canada and Washington. Putting in decades as a professional timber faller at Camp Grisdale out of Shelton- which was the king of all logging camps and the last to operate in the lower 48 states- the work was tough and separated the men from the boys. This was the era when timber was truly king!"
Eventually we started our own logging business and as our company began to grow, we purchased more equipment and started taking larger jobs, including contract logging and work for tree farms, but the private landowner has always remained our bread and butter! When we found it hard getting log trucks when we needed them, we decided to buy our own. This decision turned out to be a good investment for us- now we can give our landowners the advantage of logging and trucking combinations!
The wood harvested by American Forest Lands ends up in a variety of places.
Bub and Tammy maintain contracts that enable them to sell to export markets, specialty mills, traditional sawmills with the significant amounts of lesser quality fiber be sold to the firewood marketplace- always getting the best deal for the customer.
